Vickie owns and manages Event Driven, having previously held operational leadership roles for enterprise software companies. Prior to Event Driven she was employed by SoftBrands, an international enterprise software company in the manufacturing, distribution and hospitality industries. She held many positions during her career there, including managing real estate, travel, management training, trade shows and global events.
Vickie refined her extensive project management skills while managing real estate for those software companies. She was responsible for all areas related to real estate including identifying and planning space requirements, property selection, contract / lease negotiation and execution, build-outs, lease hold improvements, telecommunications and furnishings.
While working for SoftBrands, she had the opportunity to plan and execute her first customer conference and immediately fell in love with the challenges and rewards that are unique to the profession. She had complete responsibility for events management, from needs analysis and content development, imaging and messaging, speaker and vendor selections, budget development and accountability, customer surveys and post-event evaluation data, ROI, follow-on revenue tracking and analysis. Vickie has planned and executed events from Hainan Island China to Huatulco Mexico, Manchester England to Minneapolis Minnesota and countless cities across the US. She has the proven ability to go from brainstorming to planning to execution, within budget and on time.
She’s experienced, skilled, ready and excited to help you with your event. Vickie’s managed events for 750 guests and handled last-minute emergencies such as evacuating 500 due to a late-season hurricane. She’s executed multi-city, multi-year contracts and negotiated cancellations. She’s taken attendees to the hospital and sat with them through the night, written emergency procedures documents and reminded attendees to read them. She is an accomplished negotiator. She is passionate about what she does and dedicates herself to the success of her events.
Vickie graduated Cum Laude from Concordia University in St. Paul Minnesota. During her corporate career, she not only organized but attended countless professional development, management and leadership seminars, classes, workshops and retreats. She is an officer on the Board of Directors for the Fourth Shift International User Group, a not-for-profit corporation serving as emissary to SoftBrands and their customer community. She is frequently quoted by trade magazines and is viewed as a trusted international resource by the event planning profession.
